New Volunteers
Gleaning volunteers harvest produce from Island farms to share with the community. We spend extra time removing old leaves, checking for spots, and handling produce with care. IGI provides tools, instruction, and an experienced Field Captain. Most gleans last about an hour and a half and we have several gleans each week during summer and fall harvest seasons. Volunteers keep a share of the harvest for themselves. New volunteers are always welcome. Glean once a year, or every week!
"Gleaning brings people together around the abundance of agriculture. It connects us with local farms and makes us more thankful for the farmers and food we have in our community."- Kevin Brennan
